Coins in the series
About the series
The Witcher Book Series is a collection of commemorative coins issued since 2019 by the Mint of Gdańsk (Mennica Gdańska) under a licence from Andrzej Sapkowski — the only numismatic producer in the world holding the rights to the image of the witcher from the books.
Each release is dedicated to one novel of the cycle: The Last Wish, The Sword of Destiny, Blood of Elves, Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, The Lady of the Lake, Season of Storms and Crossroads of Ravens. The artistic side carries a multi-figure scene from the book, the official side the effigy of the reigning monarch with the Niue coat of arms or the Cameroon symbolism with the face value.
The series appears in several formats: 2 oz silver with antique finish and semi-precious stone inserts, 200 g and 1 kg silver, 1 oz and 1/10 oz gold in proof, as well as BU issues in 999.9 silver and shaped Cameroon coins of 5,000 and 10,000 CFA francs. The Niue denominations are struck for Niue and the CFA francs for Cameroon; besides Gdańsk, some issues were produced by Mennica Polska and Mint XXI.
