Description
The 2025 Panda proof coin (1 kg gold) is part of the Chinese Panda series, which the People's Bank of China issued on October 30, 2024, per Announcement [2024] No. 12. The quality is proof (精制): 1000 g of pure gold with a fineness of .999, a diameter of 90 mm, a face value of 10,000 yuan, and a maximum mintage of 1,000 pieces. The coin is legal tender of the PRC.
Artistic side (obverse). Relaxed pandas; the coin features the face value, weight, and fineness. The designer is not named in the official announcement.
Official side (reverse). The Temple of Heaven in Beijing — a design common to all denominations in the issue; surrounded by the name of the state "中华人民共和国" (People's Republic of China) and the year "2025".
Issue. The entire 2025 set consists of 14 coins: 6 bullion (gold 30 g, 15 g, 8 g, 3 g, and 1 g; silver 30 g) and 8 proof (gold 1 kg, 150 g, 100 g, and 50 g; silver 1 kg and 150 g; platinum 30 g and 3 g). The mints are Shenyang, Shanghai, and Shenzhen Guobao; the general distributor is China Gold Coin Group. Prices are not mentioned in the official announcement.
